Education is one of the best systems that human beings have invented. This system is not just a requirement that we need to apply for a job, but also an opportunity to open our minds towards new cultures and to know the wonders that we have in our country as well as in others. Education also teaches us to reflect, to be better people, and to have good relations with society.
We know of the benefits of education especially at university. It is there where people are mature enough to reflect about their life and the roles that they have to take in society. For this reason, the place where we learn has to be a multicultural place where there are enough spaces for discussion, opinion, reflection, contrasting ideas and personal expressions. Studying at a public university has let me know that all these elements exist and that there is a range of trends, opportunities and situations to live. But unfortunately in our country, not all the universities have these characteristics.
There are 'garage institutions' that because of their philosophical conception of education and economic interests can not work as centres of research or active interaction. When I go to those private institutions, I notice the change. It seems to me that those institutions are just a 'factory of degrees'. There, sometimes money and superficial thoughts give position to people according to their way of dressing, speaking or behaving.
The experience of knowing different spaces of education has made me value the opportunity of being here and caring for people's feelings and intelligence more than their social positions.
