There is a belief that the very first step to solve a problem is to accept its existence. It is evident for all of us that our country is passing through a crisis, with thousands of problems at all the spheres and levels. We are aware of it. This is something we have to live within our daily life. Then if we all are conscious of that, why don't we do something to contribute for a better country?
Probably our field of action is not the same of our partners of Sociology, Anthropology or Philosophy. We don't even have the tools to come up with real solutions. However, we all have the duty to do something since we are Colombians and all the problems of our country affect us equally.
In fact, the major of Philology should be more committed to the country and the future philologists must stop thinking that it is not our responsibility or that we are not prepared to make a great change in Colombia. We cannot tolerate Philology as the less human of the School of Human Sciences.
The serious matter is not to think that one is unable to do something, the problem is to think that one is not really willing to do anything. So my dear reader, what are you doing for Colombia?
