In this research we wanted to analyze the pedagogical issues that characterize Multiple Intelligences (MI) theory implementation during problem solving situations in project work. This study was developed with 9th grade students at the Instituto Pedagogico Arturo Ramirez Montufar (IPARM), the Universidad National de Colombia School, in an English Language Teaching (ELT) context. We approached data gathering using the following instruments: 1. Field notes; 2. workshop recordings and, 3. students' interviews. The data analysis showed that MI theory implementation motivated students because we worked based on their likes and interests. The research also helped students to develop their second language communicative and argumentative strategies improving students' problem solving and analytical abilities.

Working with multiple intelligences theory helped me to understand classroom research as a manner to get closer to my students and improve the way we as professionals teach. I consider the teacher's work and duties to be more than to lecture knowledge but to guide, observe, relate, analyze, assume positions toward different situations, react, modify and act, which means a constant process of evaluating and modifying throughout teaching-learning course of action.
I invite you to do research within your own classes because it could help you to analyze and modify teaching-learning processes thus improving the student community. This marvelous experience challenges me as a professional and gives me some tools to perform my role as a teacher being closer to my students.
